It’s big, bold and beautiful! Really enjoyed this wine. Blended with Obsidian Ridge grapes from California, it’s Cab Sauv dominance shines. Smoky, blackcurrant and vanilla notes paired really well with 70% dark chocolate — 6 years ago
Great local wine. Awesome on the nose and hearty in flavour. — 8 years ago
While in Santa Barbara wine country, I visited about seven vineyards across three days.
I had to stop by Sandhi in the so-called “wine ghetto” (warehouse district) of Lompoc in Santa Rita Hills.
These guys were awesome. I got a tour through the vineyards of Domaine de la Côte. I got to see where Pinot noir and Chardonnay vines take root.
Beautiful sites in the mountains and valleys.
Bought a mixed case of my favorites home with me.
Fruit character of lemon peel, quince, and the minerality of the pacific coast breeze is wafting off the bouquet.
Long finish of fruit character: lemon curd, grapefruit, orange leaf, and flinty goodness. — 2 months ago
Just gorgeous—maybe my favorite yet from Kelley Fox. The old vines, elevation and pacific breeze of this site clearly contribute to an incredible elegance and transparency. Vibrant strawberry, rhubarb and black cherry with spice, forest floor and tilled soil. I don’t have enough experience to know how high end wine ages under screw cap but honestly it’s in a great place right now. — 6 years ago
Walt wines celebrate Kathryn Hall’s parents Bob & Dolores Walt. La Brisa, Spanish for “The Breeze” a tribute to the Pacific breezes that cool the Sonoma vineyards. A big Chard. Cloudy straw, not filtered, with complex fruit and oak aromas. Apple and pear flavors with vanilla and warm buttery oak notes. Lingering savory finish ending with a balanced oak ending. Nice! — 8 years ago
Each time that I tasted a PN from FRS reenforces my belief that it’s the best AVA for Pinot in Northern California, if not the entire CA.
The nose shows black cherry, plum, raspberry, wrapped in cedar, cinnamon, sea breeze and hint of forest floor. The palate is concentrated and robust, combining ripe berry note with wild herbs, and a subtle earthy minerality. Firm, fine tannins with good length. Powerful, polished, and quite expressive.
From estate vineyard blocks closest to the Pacific Ocean. Give it another 4-5 years to blossom. — 6 months ago
One of few wineries that have the grape in California. Breaths the Pacific breeze and is growing on the soil sanctified by Russian Orthodox chapel. — 5 years ago
Black cherries, toasted creme brûlée topping and caramel surrounded by velvety tannins and a long finish. — 7 years ago

Tertiary aromas of vanilla cream are dominant. I could breathe this in all night. Its frangrance is nutritious. Grapefruit, lemon, and baked pear.
Beautiful mouthfeel of lemon oil translates to the palate as well. A hint of vanilla bean and grapefruit. Transports me to the treelined downtown streets of Santa Barbara and the rolling hill drive up to wine country windows down, pacific breeze, mountains around. — a month ago
