Château Caronne Ste. Gemme

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Just needed time, both in storage and decant. Better on the 2nd day
Some historical stuff I found online,

The Chateau Caronne Ste. Gemme property has been making wine since the French Revolution and has existed since the mid 1600's. Now in the hands of the Nony family, who is related to the Borie family of multi-chateau fame, the estate is in excellent hands.
The vines average about thirty years of age and are located in the southwest corner of Saint Julien. The grapes are fermented in cement vats where they also undergo malolactic fermentation. From there they're aged in one third new French oak for one year before bottling.

Weingut Alfred Walter

Weisserberg Riesling 2014

@Delectable Wine this is the Weisserberg bottling. Having enjoyed the 2015s (a very different vintage) while in Berlin a few years back, I grabbed a few of these 2014s online upon returning home. The first couple bottles were underwhelming - very austere, lacking fruit and with a degree of minerality and acid that nearly stripped the enamel off my teeth. This last bottle, however, enjoyed a couple years later, suggests the wines were simply opened too young. There is now fruit here in spades - ripe orchard fruits and citrus, and a delightful green herbal character. Delightful stony minerality, and at this age some petrol is starting to develop. Acid is still providing nice structure. Nothing life changing but I’m glad I was able to see this through it’s early-mid range development. — 4 years ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

2000 vintage. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Pristine, top shoulder fill and immaculate cork. Still tons of color. Medium body. Some bramble fruits in the nose along the usual damp earth, cassis, graphite/minerals. Consolidated power and grip with a 35-40 second finish. In the zone and worth seeking out now until 2035. Should be more affordable than most comparably performing 2000 vintage BDX online, retail or in restos. Hit it. You won't regret it. 12.8.23. — 4 months ago

Bergevin Lane

Moonspell Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Great WA State Cab, had Calico from Bergevin and enjoyed it. Moonspell is on a another plane. Soft Tannins, dark red fruit, slight vanilla. Got it for under $15 online at Wine Library. — 3 years ago

Château La Garenne

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Nice little pomerol at a good stage - still quite grippy with bright fruit and starting to develop. Cassis, plum, cedar on the nose. Plenty of acidity, well-structured. Rustic & old school from a seemingly obscure producer — no info found online. — 2 years ago
