Deep ruby red. A fuller style for a cool climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz. Spicy and savoury with red fruits and oaky notes. Quite substantial tannins. Very early in its drinking window. Needs time to develop some complexity - a little square sided at the moment. Next in 2 to 3 years. Ended up taking a bottle to sister Helen’s place in Gloucestershire. Tasted with consistent notes - the oak seemed better balanced on this occasion. On 24th July 2019.

This developed positively from previous tastings here on Delectable. My brief notes - Liquorice; more savoury than fruit driven - Bacon, Charcuterie, spicy notes on the nose and medium weight palate. Some pepper. Very Northern Rhone in style. Certainly built for the long haul. I have 2 left - next in 2024. I ended up having the next bottle 42 weeks later on 31st May 2023. Consistent notes to previous ones here.

This wine hasn't budged since last tasted some years ago, still super primary and youthful. Disappointed a little in fact, felt safe and lacked any real interest.

Crimson in colour with youthful purple tinged. Lovely spicy peppery nose with a hint of ginger. Medium bodied with cherry/berry fruits. From the Adelaide Hills but could be Northern Rhone. This is a well crafted wine from a great vintage made by a talented pair of winemakers in a good area for cool climate Shiraz- the perfect storm! And a pleasure to drink.

It was worth getting lost on the way home to stumble across a sign that said "vins d'ailleurs."

Good core of dark fruit, little yogurt twang, touch of pepper, sleek and easy to like. Pure, a lovely year.
