Delicious. Rich caramel and honey. Smooth. Matured in American and European oak. Asks seasoned with sherry from Jerez. — 5 years ago
Deep ruby in color; blackberries, strawberries, and tabacco on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like raspberry jam, white pepper, and crushed gravel with a long fruity finish. There may be a little residual sugar, but it's well balanced and tasty. Nellie likes it and I do too. — 6 months ago
It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Here's a delicious one from France.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black plums, black currants, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, leather, spices, dark coffee, milk chocolates and peppercorn. Pretty, once it opens up.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and fruity, with blackberries, earth, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, light alcohol, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, leather, pencil lead, herbs and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 5 year old Right Bank Bordeaux. Drinking very nicely now, although still young.
This 2016 vintage is showing very nicely now. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Still a little hot at the back of the throat, at this point, but I love the cedar and sweet cherry notes.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly, so give it time. Good by itself once it opens up.
Will age nicely in the next 15 years, and has good potential to become even better.
Tasty, tangy and spicy. A delicious wine from a great vintage.
A good food wine too, that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with cheeses and green olives.
A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are grown on limestone soil.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, vanilla, cedar, cola, spices, light must, milk chocolates, tobacco and black pepper.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, cherries, cedar, light vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, light herbs, vegetables, earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The label is gone, but the cork shows the name and vintage.
Showing great complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Elegant, fruit forward and rich.
So nice right out of the bottle, and after 15 minutes of airtime, tannins show up and bring good structure to the wine.
This 36 Year old is still drinking very nicely. Didn't last more than a couple of hours, but we didn't need more than that.
I've heard of bottle variation in this vintage. We got lucky this time.
A fantastic wine that I couldn't stop smelling. What a beautiful nose.
Such a great experience tasting this aged wine. Thank you John for sharing.

Sineann old vine Zinfandel, 2016. This is Columbia Valley Oregon. Zinfandel is a pretty difficult wine to make but these guys have it down!!!!!!! This is perhaps the best Zinn I’ve tasted in a long time. You can actually taste the pepper in the spice right from the get go. You can also taste the flavor of the Zinfandel grape as well right on the front of the pallet. It’s almost sweet but it’s nowhere near sugar sweet. There’s blueberry boysenberry blackberry even some raspberry in there. Loads of black pepper white pepper cigarbox graphite. The finish gives my palate a wonderful tingle. And I will definitely buy a lot more of this while it’s this good!!!! You should too! — 4 years ago
2nd best whisky I’ve had ever. — 6 years ago

Has a high fruit forward nose, apples, pears, kiwi. Faint, faint, vanilla and oak but still really fruit forward. — 15 days ago
