The 2021 Pinot Noir X Novo Vineyard blossoms in the glass with seductive sweet florals and autumnal spices complementing vivid black cherry. Its silken textures and brisk acidity impress further, casting polished wild berries across the palate as rosy inner florals form toward the close. It tapers off pure and crisp as stimulating mineral tones add a tactile feel and dusty tannins fade. The X Novo is simply stunning and should enjoy a long, broad drinking window. Spicy and floral, the 2021 Chardonnay X Novo Vineyard blossoms in the glass with a complex, mineral-tinged blend of ginger-spiked apples, lime zests and sage. Luxuriously silky and soothing with medium-weight textures and depths of ripe pit fruits, this excels with tenacity and brisk acids that lift the experience despite the sheer intensity within. A burst of tart citrus saturates the palate, puckering the cheeks and leaving a salty staining as a subtle tannic tug adds perfect punctuation. While powerful and broad, the balance here is spellbinding. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

I found it surprisingly good. It was full body but with a tint of sweetness. I bought it at Mitsukoshi for ¥3,800. — 3 years ago
