Very smooth medium body Moroccan white. Palais Namaskar. Boxing Day dinner. — 7 months ago
Such a great wine no one knows about on delectable except me and @Chris Shultz .
Nose of dried apricots, fig, pollen, brown sugar. Lime and lemon strands. Minerals and a bazaar like perfume. Something you’d encounter in Morocco. Hints of incense. Unique and complex. Ocean scents but with lots of seaweed underneath. What a palate. Not as round as 15 but with more angles and terrific finesse and white cherries, yellow plum and tangy just ripe apricots. Chewy, dense and concentrated wirh brilliant texture, juiciness and depth. So energetic, clean and balanced and man is this long. A refreshing wine that also is complex and deep. Lemony finish. Wow. Structure to age for a decade or more. — a month ago
Smells: meaty, with a hint of something fruity
Tastes: tart, citrus, maybe a hint of cherries?
Not to jammy, light and bright. Makes your cheeks water when you drink it. I really enjoy the tart flavor. The citrus mixed with the cherry is very interesting and pleasant. — 4 months ago
2001 vintage. 80 % Sauvignon blanc and 20% Sémillon. So glad I had a second bottle of this wine. The first one was beautiful, but this is even better. Deep golden colour. Intensely complex nose with beeswax, lemon confit, dried flowers and honey. Concentrated layered dried fruit, rich and powerful, but beautifully balanced by the acidity. Incredible length with almonds, honey and retronasal dried fruit. Paired this with an amazing Morocco tajine with chicken, olives, lemon confit and potatoes and it was a match made in heaven.
