Bergamont that evolves into a Granny Smith apple. A lot of texture. Delicious! Had in Copenhagen. — 8 months ago
Mildly oxidized, gorgeously integrated Morillon/Sauvignon Blanc half-half, so brilliantly balanced and contemplative. Zero sulfur. Finally understand “clear and precise” as wine descriptors. — 5 years ago
Morillon vom Opok
Biodynamic Chardonnay from Steiermark.
Cloudy, smokey, yeasty, sappy, fresh!
Bruised apples, ripe lemons, underripe pineapple, green mango. Plus some hay, flinty, smokey aromas. Juicy, fresh, enticing.
On the palate with vibrant acidity, with great freshness & depth. Rough around the edges, with a touch of cidery notes, a bit of VA. There’s a creamy touch to the mouthfeel. And a mineral hint. This is ultra drinkable and so delicious. Love it! — 2 years ago
Hailing from Languedoc, this white has a similar profile to that of a Rhoné white blend. No idea of the blend, but the nose presents honey, apricot and dried herbs. The palate suggests that viognier is in the mix. Big notes of lychees and passion fruit are bold and strong, along with the oak, which I consider to be a little too prominent. Acidity is lacking, and this comes across a little too smooth. Still a good effort, just dial back on the oak treatment. — 5 years ago
Matt Perlman
Mountain wine from the Austrian-Slovenia border. Exuberant yellow pit fruit, saline/mineral, sweet grass. Joyful stuff, perfect with prosciutto and melon or (in this case) risotto with summer vegetables — 4 months ago
