So good! Kind of orange wine. Center is orange color. Slight oak. A bit sweet, slight tannic and spices from grape skin. Balanced sweetness and sourness. First one of orange wine I feel good. Marmalade. Vigna rocca albana secco 21 @3400, Dmar JH, 231008-231021 — 7 months ago
Langhe State of the Nation. Crushed dark cherry, chocolate, mint, lemon verbena, and saddle leather. Sour and tart with murky old eyes. — a year ago

2 hr decant, then drank over 2 hours. Complex aromas of dense dark red fruits and menthol and tobacco that mingled evolved over 2-3 hours then started to evolve into overripe plum, candied black licorice and cedar. Palette is bold. In the early hours it was intensely Oakes but over time it opens up into more stewed overripe old sweet fruits umm like tasty fermented fruit? Some cacao and leather. Menthol on the finish. Still modestly tannic in a gravely way but it’s in balance, but does work better with food. — 5 months ago

Really interesting funky wine. Not a textbook valpocella ripasso but still great. Dark cherry, blackberry, and smoke on the nose. Medium bodied, not as sweet as I’d expect for this style. Lots of licorice & cocoa. Finishes with a lingering cocoa note with lots of wood. — 3 months ago
Light bubbles, but not too much. Semi-sweet at first taste, but smooths out once aired to pair with cheese and chocolate. — a year ago
My first Ripasso!!! Wow!!! Ruby colored with wood and cherry aromas. This is a big bold wine that is very smooth. It’s boldness reminds me of a Cabernet Sauvignon. Cherry, wood, and plenty of spice notes with a fairly long finish. Went well with our Leg of Lamb! — 2 years ago
