Montagny, Côte Chalonnaise

Louis Latour

Montagny Chardonnay 2018

Pale lemon with aromas of stone fruits and blossom notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple and citrus with notes of spice and yeasty mineral. Vivid acidity, medium+ finish, ending with fruit notes. Nice value! — 14 days ago

Not as grippy as I’d hoped but balanced and easy to like — a month ago

Find some Marc Colin St Aubin. Opened a ‘14 on Sunday that was intensely mineral.

Domaine Belleville

Rully Montpalais 1er Cru Chardonnay 2006

9.1

Had CVed for comp with Ampeaux. When first opened it smelled like it’s in the edge of oxidation but then it settled down and showed as most of the other Belleville Rully. Complexity, balance, transport to vineyards and vines. Yum. So good with Leila’s garlic buttered shrimp. — 7 days ago

Rully Chardonnay 2015

Delightfully old fashioned. Nose has sweet cream lactic scents, chalky gravel, wet straw, red apple skins. Balanced in the mouth, very restrained but flavorful. Very mineral, but in a soft way. Nice acids and length. I — 19 days ago

Les Cerisières Mercurey Pinot Noir 2017

Needs some breathing, very tight at the moment, but then opening up to sour cherries, bread yeast, sone wet leaves, riper cherries...loved it, good value in Burgundy — 5 days ago

Domaine de Villaine

La Fortune Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise PInot Noir 2016

202 spring / summer. I wonder if my ratings are suffering from inflation, but the truth is often I would be happy doing all of my drinking from de Villaine’s range. This particular Fortune was notably more developed than the 2017 or 18, in a good way - lots of woodsy complexity over the brighter berry fruit. — 17 hours ago

Domaine A. et P. de Villaine

La Digoine Côte Chalonnaise Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2018

2020 July. This had a bracingly intense, savory, mineral character - almost smoky. — 19 hours ago

Les Grésigny Rully 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Has kept acid levels and vivacity well. Have tried about one per year from this vintage since released and this was the best one yet. I love the Chalonnaise!! — 21 days ago

Hi @Ira Schwartz. Sorry, it may have appeared from the wording that this was much older but it is a 2014 that I’ve had yearly from -16 until now. Great value!
