Terre Silvate Marche Bianco Verdicchio Blend 2022

Really quite nice. Great texture and just a hint of pleasing bitterness on the finish to complement the acid. Delicious and interesting. — 9 days ago

Susucaru Rosato Malvasia Blend 2021

Good, yet not very ‘special’.
Paired it with Ottolenghi’s Orzo Puttanesca.

you’d never think a sangiovese / merlot / cab sav / syrah mix at this price point would have so much life to it — 3 months ago

Crisp and tasty, but not sure it is worth the price tag. Citrus peel and wild Italian herbs. — 2 months ago

Castello di Ama

Gran Selezione San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2017

Too young but still very nice with a 5h decant - suggest checking back in another 3-5 years. Tannins are very present, but the fruit and earth are very nice. Good acid too, especially for a hot vintage. — 5 months ago

Cá del Magro Custoza Superiore Garganega Blend 2020

2020 vintage.
A field blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscana, Manzoni, Tocai Friulano , Cortese, Chardonnay, Riesling Italico, and Malvasia.
Custoza is in the hills of Lake Garda. Magro vineyard is small and 30 plus years old. White spring flowers, citrus and ginger on the nose. Medium bodied and off-dry with an underlying acidity. Yellow stone fruits with apple, pear and ripe persimmon.
This wine paired well with Spaghetti alla Vongole with local clams.

Paolo Bea

Santa Chiara Umbria Bianco Malvasia Blend 2016

Poured into a Boa decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2016 “Santa Chiara pours a brilliant, deep and slightly hazy copper gold color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with desiccated apricots, dried apples, yellow flowers, and curaçao. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannins. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is super long and super amazing. This is such a wonderful bottle of Bea. When his whites hit, well…they really hit. Drink now with a short decant or over the next 3-5 years.
