Medium deep gold colour with fragrant nose of gooseberry, ripe peach, pear, lime, honey suckle with some smokey butter, vanilla and honey. Dry medium full body with crisp acidity and, even though it's a white wine, some discrete tannins. In the mouth, more notes of peach, Asian pear, key lime pie with some oaky smoke, and light butter as well as a honey nut long finish. Very nice. Pouilly-fumé is such a different but interesting expression of sauvignon blanc!

Maybe not as amazing as when it was just bottled (which was the last time I had it), but still so fresh, pure, and gulpable. Gamay is so transparent. It really channels the minerality of the terroir it’s grown in. Goes well with my Popeyes spicy chicken (crazy night). — 9 years ago

Vintage 2021 | Note to self: móre Rousanne. After tasting I put half a bottle in the fridge for 48 hours. Drank it with a baked dab, cichory and baked potatoes. Makes me happy. The wine is Rousanne 40 Grenache 30 and Clairette 30. Much violets in smell and a perfectly balanced taste. — a year ago

Soft palate, light, crisp finish. Green apple, floral, melon notes. Selection Eric stauffenegger, vigneron imports. At Rays, Los Angeles, CA — 12 years ago
Second take after a year and the oak has started to integrate. It's still youthful and with a bit of tannic structure but it feels more balanced now. The nose is nice and rather typical with cherry, hay and earthy touches. There is also a black tea note, a bit of vanilla and oak too. The palate is showing a great acid drive, some nice cherry, almost cherry coke notes all along, some nice, sweet mouthfeel, before a bit of drying tannic wall in the rear which feels more oak-induced than anything. The finish is long, elegant, cherry forward, with that drying layer that goes on for a while and a tiny bitter, and almost savoury note. — a year ago
What is it about excellent Loire Chenin that just really really does it for me? Waxy, honeyed, gorgeous wine. — 3 years ago

2019 vintage. 100% Chenin Blanc. Helluva bridge wine between Champagne and white Burg. Medium body. Excellent acidity. Some roundness. Some primary fruit and supplemental derivatives. Complicated shizz and for fairly advanced palates. Prom king/queen in its’ own way and for those that have the experience/wherewithal to realize it as such. 2.26.26. — 4 months ago
