Podium Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Verdicchio 2019

Quite a textural wine, not too much fruit, very mineral. Fat and oily.
Long and good. It can age.
It's fresh.
Quite hard to approach the first time.
Verdicchio is a great grape variety IMO, so underrated.
There are several great producers and not expensive at all.

Fabuloso… elegant, drinks like a Chianti Classico but a bit feral (in a good way) - more complexity w/impeccable balance. This is one to seek out - the Marche just doesn’t get enough love — 2 years ago

Cheap ⚡️ . Killer Verdicchio for the money. Lemon zest, acacia, wet slate and sea spray. — a month ago

Serra del Conte Verdicchio del Castelli di Jesi Classico 2021

Unique aromas of orange pith and fennel, weighty body with medium acidity from orange zest flavors, and lots of herbaceous notes with the fennel coming through. — 10 months ago

La Selezione Giocchino Garofoli Verdicchio 2008

Loud and proud!
Very dense and structured wine screaming for creamy, rich, truffled food. Or lobster. Would be fine, as well.

Look up "inexpensive dry Italian red wine" in the dictionary and you may get a picture of this. Super drinkable. Light and zippy. — 4 years ago

Gioacchino Piancarda Rosso Conero 2017

This is a Rosso Conero (now just Conero) that does not try to be something it’s not. Most Conero producers seem to want to have their wines be 2000s-styled “international wines,” replete with overextraction and lots of French oak. But this is perfectly within itself. Conero is supposed to be like this is: smoky, earthy, dark berries, tannins present but well-managed, good acids, please get me a bowl of pasta in a red meat sauce. Which I’m eating tonight. Thanks to my brother for giving this to me. — 2 years ago
