Les Monts

Domaine François Gerbet

Les Petits Monts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2006

Good medium dark rubi robe, nose very reticent with black fruits and a hint of flowers. Very classical in style and benefits from decanting. Cistercian register. We like it better than the new management after the sisters retired. — 22 days ago

Rounded and quite plush on the nose. A little whiff of age… rounded and still quite fresh. Lacks the cut of the younger wines — a month ago

Great lineup & dinner with Louis Michel. He showcased his amazing wines in what he termed were difficult vintages. — 3 months ago

The 14’ red Burghs have disappointed me so far.

Given the village and terroir - I thought this would show higher in points.

La Côte des Monts Damnés Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Wow, I loved this wine. It evolved from nose, to approach, to mid-palette to a lovely long finish. There was a vibrant tension between the fruit and the acidity and the limestone underneath it all. And, basically, yum. — 7 months ago
