2019 vintage. Tasted alongside Poujeaux 2019, this Belgrave seems more powerful and more extracted. More gentle extractions seem to suit the vintage better, therefore I rate the Poujeaux a little higher. But this is still a very good wine and terrific value as it is dumped in supermarkets at 20,90 euros. They don't seem to have much faith in their Grand Cru Classé status... — 4 years ago
A few years of bottle age has done wonders for LC20, the second release of this wine. Ultra vinous, full bodied and satiny, it’s incredibly complex with a caramelized stone fruited profile with salted hazelnuts, curry leaf, gun smoke and lavender, and a long, vibrant, saline-mineral inflicted finale. It’s more Selossien in style than the regular Les Beguines which I dig. After an hour or so open is when it really gets stunning. Top tier bubbles. — 4 months ago
2015 vintage. This estate was bought in 2002 by Belgian Justin Onclin and he turned Branas Grand Poujeaux into the finest wine of the Moulis appellation in my humble opinion. Eclats is the second wine and it is a very attractive medium-bodied Moulis that delivers amazing value for money. Perfect to drink now, but no signs of fatigue. Abv. 13,5%. — 3 years ago
This estate was bought in 2013 by the Cuvelier family (Clos Fourtet and Poujeaux), but the previous owner Sophie Fourcade already made great efforts to improve the wines. This 2018 features a deep red colour, a flamboyant perfume with truffle, red fruit and flowers. Concentrated, with layers of red fruit and spices and a serious tannic structure. Good length too. As this estate (promoted to Grand Cru Classé in the 2012 classification) is still very much under the radar it is great value and worth seeking out for less than 25 euros. — 4 years ago
Marpaout 2022. First vintage of a 100 % Merlot of Château Branas Grand Poujeaux. An absolutely spectacular wine from a single plot. Aged in 100% new oak and additionally in amphora. Incredible complexity, wonderful elegance, and phenomenal length. The high alcohol (15%) goes totally unnoticed. Retail price 1500 euro. Only 900 bottles produced. — 2 months ago
2016 vintage. Superb, with just the right balance of dryness and flavor — 9 months ago
A Bordeaux wine totally free from Bordeaux references and "folklore" for our greatest pleasure. Superb expression of terroir and fruit, under the label "vin de France" Attack and body full of freshness and vivacity. Noble material in the mouth. Drying finish again, it is to be put in the cellar.
— 3 years ago

I don’t like the idea of “getting rid” of wine, but this was at the bottom of my cellar rack, and I felt like it might be over-aged. I was right. Still has a lot of character, standing strong, but the fruit is getting weaker and muted. Not corked, but faintly musty. The last 99 bottle I had was singing, but this is a farewell. I’ll sip it slowly over the next few days and see if some air will do this one some good — 20 hours ago
