Well played red, imparting some of that elusive tar note I enjoy. — 24 days ago
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is still a baby. I would not bother opening a bottle anytime soon. Dark and potent, with huge tannins, the 2016 packs a serious punch of intensity. A whole range of floral and mineral notes begin to emerge, but the 2016 is searing in its intensity. I expected a bit more here given the pedigree of the year. Perhaps that will come in time. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Best on Day 2. The 2016 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of grapefruit, lemon, freshly cut grass, wild flowers, honeysuckle, poblano pepper, and mushrooms. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and has a creamy texture. Drink now with patience, as it really needs time to open, and enjoy through 2036. — 5 months ago
Good smoke, black berries, cherries and a slight hint of vanilla. A bit pricey at $32 but does not disappoint — a month ago
At home. Opened this as it was a gift from Vincent for my first big launch. Great bottle. Funky flavor and fun. — 3 months ago
Should not have kept it this long - the pain of offsite storage but it’s still very nice. The nose is light/gone, buttery smooth with a light finish. Can’t recall how much acid this had early on in its life but it’s only there lightly now. Not dead but I’m drinking these asap. — 4 months ago
