Kissed By An Angel Wines

Trapiche

Reserve Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Had this with a Francis Mallmann inspired dinner. It played very nicely with the fire-kissed, slightly smoky veg and juicy skirt steak. An equally big and juicy wine. — a year ago

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1999

Good god! An angel pissed on my tongue tonight...
No signs of aging. Fruit-forward, tannic and bold. Intellectual and very sophisticated. Nice mature black cherries sync up with light tobacco, and spice box notes. Exemplary effort, with another 15 - 20 years of runway.

@ Ron R, At 22 years old I don't think anyone can accuse you of jumping the gun :)

Thanks @Alexandre Pagliano. I also had a case of 98 Lafite. They took 15 years before they turned the corner. I’ll be honest, while l love these wines, I don’t have the patience any more. Having to twiddle your thumbs for 20 years for these to decide and come out and play isn’t fun any more.

Hilltop Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

WOW!! Incredibly smooth, well refined and like an angel gently caressing your tongue with a whisk of mature red fruit, a slight bit of jam and a clean, finish. A satisfying mouth feel all the way through, and lingering notes of light smoke, wood and vanilla. I wish I had picked up a second bottle! — 2 years ago

With a salad, after dumping another bottle down the drain this one was an upside surprise. Excellent! — 4 years ago

Luke Lambert

Yarra Valley Nebbiolo 2017

The 2017 Luke Lambert is gorgeous, showing all of the best qualities of Nebbiolo, while presenting a primary and sun-kissed expression from Down Under.  The color is classic, translucent ruby, as aromas of crushed cherries, strawberries, dusty cedar and wild herbs lift from the glass.  There’s the slightest hint of diesel here, yet this may just be a bit of residual reduction.  It graces the palate with silky textures carrying ripe, yet wonderfully pure Nebbiolo fruit, offset by brisk acids and spice, with slow-mounting tannins tugging at senses. The finish is long, structured, yet fresh, with a coating of fine tannins under an air of sweet inner florals.  I’ll be interested to see how the second half of this bottle performs tomorrow, but even more interested in seeing how it performs after five to ten years in the cellar.  Very Nice. — 4 years ago

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2019

This one needs at least one glass after it becomes an an angel peeing on your toung... Round perfect complex tanines that become heavenly greatness the more you taste. This one I will remember for future purchases because it has magic, somewhere. — 2 years ago

Cupcake Vineyards

Angel Food California White Blend 2017

A little honey, a little pear, a little oaky. I’m a simple bitch who enjoys an easy drinking white wine so this is a slam dunk on a beautiful quarantine afternoon. — 4 years ago

Tried this again and it did not go down as well this time. Might be the sugar.
