It provided a really good refreshing and slightly fruity flavor. I paired this wine with jerk chicken. It calmed he spice, but did not kill the taste. I highly recommend this wine with a Caribbean dish. — 5 years ago
Someone beat me to taste this from the bottle. Had 2021 from barrel and predicted it would be a stellar vintage. Well this estate wine is delicious. Cherries galore, lime, plenty of acidity but not over the top. Well balanced. Very burgundian. Yet it retains this slope of the black forest terroir. Strikes me as a drink now wine. Arrived today at 11am. Lyle will kill me for not allowing the wine to rest. I might try the big boys in the next couple of weeks. Can’t wait. Great wines in my book can withstand the shipping journey with ease. It’s a badge of honor. 11.5%. With air 9.4. — 2 years ago
Undisputedly one of the world’s greatest rosés, this wine has levels of complexity most pink wines can only dream of. And with age? Kill me now. 10 years on this wine smells of potpourri and dirty socks, orange peel and dried herbs. In the mouth, dried exotic citrus flavors and dried strawberries are carried across the palate in a silky mountain stream of minerality as dried flowers and a tiny hint of pink peppercorns linger in the finish. Gorgeous, layered and constantly evolving this is a wine of meditation if there ever was one. — 5 years ago
Drink with a group of people so that you kill off the bottle quickly—the first 20 minutes are great. Smoked meats, juicy and brambly fruit, herbs. Then the mouse sets in. (I had 3 different bottles of this over the course of a few weeks and all showed mousiness after a half hour being open). — 6 years ago
Whatta treat. Young, sparkling, refreshing Pinot w/ great fresh strawberry notes. Good way to kill the 92-deg eve + 90% humidity! $20! — 2 years ago
Quarantine materials ready. Creature comforts are getting me through this thing. Give me good coffee, pavement to pound, a pen that dances on the page, a worn notebook with still empty pages to fill, jazz weaving the air, and a bottle of wine, and I will kill all the time there is.
A magenta shawl in the glass.
Earth’s fragrance caught in a bottle. Sweet, sweet clay. Leather. Intense plums and orange zest. Sea breeze. This is a memorable and rich bouquet.
Subtle smoke quality reminiscent of the char in the bark of good brisket. A reserved dark fruit quality which is there, but just teases you as a spicy black peppercorn note swings in for a jab. It’s smooth.
An eloquence in the expression and structure. Like a mathematical proof or a line of poetry you cannot easily forget.
It slaps. — 6 years ago

Medium-dark ruby color, smoky, meaty, subtle green bean/asparagus note, resolved tannins, rich, not heavy dark fruited flavors on the palate, long, lingering finish, excellent older Hermitage!!! (I’m SO happy the cork gods didn’t kill this one, I’ve had miserable luck over the years with the 1988-1990 triumvirate of Sorrel Greal with corked bottles!!) — 4 months ago
