Comprehensive notes from 24 weeks ago still apply. Definitely Australia’s best sparkling I think, from Tasmania. Straw and hay aromas with fresh bread. With over 7 years on lees giving this quality and complexity if it was French you would be paying a couple of $100. Champion wine of the Brisbane Wine Show in 2016. — 4 days ago
Lovely nose, white orchard fruit, freshly cut herbs, On the palate typical warm-climate SB, Good freshness when served right from the fridge. Alas, the finish is slightly marred by an abundance of citrus peel bitterness and alcoholic heat (15,5% ABV...)

It is a dark wine, and the nose is very expressive. Blackberry, cassis, vanilla, tea and a slight brambly note are present. On the palate, savory cola and oak spice get into the act, while the tannins are firm, but not overly so. The dark fruit is there, but the savory aspect of the flavor profile definitely leads the way. Have a juicy filet with this one - they deserve each other. — 7 days ago
If you love your oaky and super flavoursome Chardonnay’s, then you need to get this Snake + Herring 2018 ‘Corduroy’ Chardonnay from Margaret River in your glass stat 🥰
I was gifted this bottle as part of my media sample Chef Collection pack from Wine Selectors (thank you!). This exciting 6-pack is a collaboration with Chef Miguel Maestre (aka @thecrazybull) so alongside the wines you get a recipe booklet full of Spanish recipes to match the wines 😋
The matched recipe for this yummy Chardonnay is ‘Caldero Murciano’ - fresh lobster 🦞 with a rice risotto type filling. It sounds and looks absolutely divine. Miguel can you come over and cook it for us please? 🤣
Unfortunately we had no lobster so it was Pan Con Tomate for us (bread, oil, salt, garlic and tomato). It was delicious though 😜
Here’s my notes on the wine:
It’s a delicious looking lemon colour in the glass. On the nose it has wonderful toasty aromas with butter, popcorn, melon, citrus, almonds and all the goodness of a beautifully oaked chardonnay. In the mouth it’s rich but oh so fresh at the same time. Absolutely satisfying!
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

Smells of bright cherry, raspberry, dried strawberry and violets. Raspberry, plum and light cranberry with thyme and roses on the palate. Touch of anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger snap, but all pulled together by the fruit and a layer of saffron-apple. Uniquely delightful. Had with Sashimi, and wasabi to cut the fog, so held its own. #sojourncellars #russianrivervalley #russianriverpinot #rrv #sonoma #pinotnoir #pn — 8 days ago
