Les Hauts de Guillaman

Côtes de Gascogne Red Blend 2009

Merlot from the Southwest of France. First time having a Cotes de Gascogne and absolutely impressed with the quality! Beautiful fruit along with some layers of complexity built up over the last 10 years. Amazingly youthful. Crowd pleaser. — 5 days ago

Le Grand Noir

Black Sheep Vin de Pays d'Oc Malbec 2015

A big French red yet with a mellow California-like finish. These things sound like an impossible marriage yet here it is. Wonderful and a surprisingly excellent blend. Mature red fruit with some notes of light tobacco transitioning into a raspberry paired with a silky finish. Pair with some soft cheese for a maximum effect and enjoy! Sante! — 15 hours ago

Château Tirecul La Gravière

Monbazillac Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2013

This golden sweetie smells succulent, with the nose showing honey, apples and chalk. The palate is pure dessert, with some razor-sharp acidity thrown in just to make us want to pair it with a steak or something crazy like that. It's all sweet all the time, yet does not even go near the “cloying” signpost. — 6 days ago

Château Bouscassé (Alain Brumont)

Vieilles Vignes Madiran Tannat 2002

Vintage 2002 / it’s so dark when you pour this in the glass, rooftile colour at the rim, I put my nose in the glass and... stand at the yard of a farmer. Autumnleaves and manure, graphite, laurel and an impression of plums. What a joy to smell, several layers. At this moment in the mouth a lot of tannin and bitters, also a refined taste of cherries. I am doubting to pour from the bottle or give it some air in the decanter... before dinner. It’s a tremendous joy to taste tannat / madiran. The vieilles vignes offers a lot more than the basic cuvee. — 16 days ago

Mooie TN Peter 👍 Madiran kan zo mooi zijn.

Château du Caillau

Cahors Malbec

Shoe polish peppery. The bouquet reminds me of a musky, spicy, fragrant cologne my grandfather might have worn in the early 90s.

Takes me back.

Licorice, black cherry, and just a hint of banana peel in the bouquet.

At first taste:

Woah. Flavor bomb.

Rich. All this fruit you don’t sense in the bouquet comes alive. It’s as if you’re berry picking on the French countryside, popping handfuls of mixed berries into your mouth at a time.

$11.99 at TJ. This is a steal.
