High acid amazing fruit. Very young but super dynamic. From mag, so a long way to go right now.

Delicious and just starting to be drinkable. Lovely opulent fruit and a spine of gorgeous acidity. A touch of sweetness. Great, with loads of life ahead

From magnum. Straw gold color, fruit forward nose. Notes of citrus, lemon, apple slice, brioche toast. Some chalk and stone, some cranberries. Lots of energy in the glass, and even more so in the mouth. This is the real deal. 96+

Albeit young, 2008 Cristal is drinking very well at this point in time, even if unsurprisingly not yet showing all that it can be. Drank solo over the course of 3 hours in a Burgundy glass, it had plenty of time to evolve and express. 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, 08 Cristal flaunts a gorgeous bouquet of fresh white flowers, yellow orchard fruit, baking spice, vanilla bean and crushed seashells. The palate is searingly intense with ripping citrusy acids, incredible elegance and pin point precision in its delivery before giving way to a saline and mineral infused finish that just keeps going. Again, very young, no doubt, and while already terrific, it’s easy to see what the fuss is about and how special the vintage will be down the road. But in my opinion there’s no harm in drinking now if you accept and enjoy the stage it will be in.

Stellar. Toasted hazelnuts, lemon curd, methyl anthranilate. Super fine bubbles that take you to the still zesty ripe Meyer Lemon finish. I recall when we had a bottle of this upon release I preferred the freshness then. This has been stored in our eurocave since we bought it from the reps at a party @sigh in Sonoma (Highly recommended btw - Thanks Jayme!) Here’s to 20 more years Mia ❤️

Superb! Smashing bottle of Cristal. Rich with incredible tension and purity, embodies class and elegance. Leads with a gorgeous mixture of fruit and autolytic notes; fresh baked brioche, tangerine marmalade, lemon and orange curd, nougat, spun sugar, toasted hazelnuts, red currants, spring honey, fine layer of fragrant exotic fruit pineapple or quince. Beneath the complexity really gains with the chalky tones really driving the nose and plate. Crushed and damp chalk, struck stones, the slightest edge of sweet herbs and smoke. The subtle spice and floral elements add dimension. Structurally I fine it hard to describe because the acidity has so much momentum but there is sufficient impact and depth to suggest that it is a rich wine. Overall it is supremely elegant and still holding onto its coiled and youthful state. Great potential but the pedigree is there to admire now.
