Papale Primitivo di Manduria

MICHAEL COOPER DipWSET
9.2

Sorry for the lousy photo. Great wine recommended by José Luis at Atrio. It was one of the first Primitivos I've ever had that really reminded me of Californian Zinfandel while at the same time had particular nuances from Italy. Fresh and rich at the same time. — 10 years ago

Bodega Vetas

Andalucía Petit Verdot 2015

A minor ingredient in Bordeaux blends, Petit Verdot is one of those grape varieties that enjoy greater popularity away from home. A late ripening grape, it can have difficulties ripening in Bordeaux, but it flourishes in warmer regions, such as parts Australia, California and Ronda in southern Spain, where it was first introduced by José Luis Vetas in 1991. Dense ruby-purple color. Notes of red fruit, herbs and tobacco. Big and powerful — 4 years ago

Rioja Vino Rosado Garnacha Tempranillo 2017

Lopez Heredia rose lovers alert: a garnacha/Tempranillo blend from the husband of one of the Lopez daughters. More perky & fresh than its Lopez ancestor but still layered with tangerine peel, grapefruit pith, & some Unami. Great concentration & has a more new penny copper color. For about 30$ I’ll take it, especially since Lopez rose fetches 100$. — 3 years ago

Emilio Lustau

Almacenista José Luis González Obregon Fino del Puerto Palomino Fino

Looks like a bourbon. Aromas of walnuts, balsamic, and caramelization. Tasty and Sweet. An excellent option for a dessert wine. Kind of like a pecan liquor without the high alcohol content. — 4 years ago

Emilio Lustau

Rare Amontillado Escuadrilla Sherry Palomino Fino

Amontillado seco, Escuadrilla/Lustau. 100% Palomino fino, tiefe goldene Farbe, Nuss Nougat, Haselnüsse, süße Schokolade, Pflaumen, Karamell, Kandis, RZ 5g, Körper, harmonisch, Länge, trocken — 9 years ago
