Johannisberg 'Gold' Eiswein Riesling 2007

I don’t drink Eiswein often but this bottle was a treat that was muled back from the old country. Very floral on the nose; honey sweet on the attack but there was fantastic acidity to give it the lift necessary to keep the balance. — 2 months ago

Lime zest on stones with tropical fruits, luxurious body, and perfect acidity. Absolutely lovely. — 6 months ago

Late Harvest Johannisberg Riesling 1989

I was back and forth on a Sauternes or this as a pairing for dessert to compete with the Fonseca port. So glad I chose this. Definitely a crowd favorite. Sweet but had enough acid to balance it out. — 2 months ago

Bestes Fass Winkeler Hasensprung Riesling Spätlese trocken 2016

Juicy, racy, mineral and just plain tasty. Mouthwatering acidity with some stuffing to balance it out. Wonderfully lemony, bright and magically delicious! A trocken I can dig!!! — 2 months ago

Gelblack Qualitätswein Riesling 2017

What an awesome Riesling. A bit sweeter then what I normally like but it is a tangy sweetness, sooo vibrant, so refreshing and a very soothing, pure, clean finish that lingers for more than a minute. What an awesome Riesling! — 4 months ago

Winkeler Hasensprung Spätlese Riesling 2016

Riesling is the greatest because the place and the year and the maturity and so many inputs create such a diverse set of faces. But it’s always unmistakenly Riesling.

Goldatzel is a newcomer to the Rheingau. Winkeler Hasensprung is electric and youthful. Flashy green spearmint with key lime citrus and papaya. The zing greets you at the door. Weight and round sweetness show you the long way out.
