As often when the temperature rises and the days are getting longer I have a German Riesling itch. Conveniently my wife was on a business trip in Germany this week and brought back some bottles for us. The nose shows chalk, lemon, lemon zest and a bit of a petroly touch. The palate, as expected, shows a massive acid drive, making it a very fresh, almost electric wine with a superb tension. Lemon curd and lemon zest notes blossom all along, it’s almost that lemon meringue pie that I crave from back home all year long (if you haven't tried it yet, look for it, it's divine). The finish is fresh, long lasting, focused and gentle with these lemon curd notes. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that I would have loved even more tension. Good stuff though. — 8 days ago

Nahe really nailed it in 2021!
So expressive on the nose with ripe exotic fruit & lemons but also with minerality and stony austerity.
On the palate zippy, stony with lemony acidity and a herby touch. But there’s also some roundness and purity of fruit which fills out the austere frame. Beautifully balanced and so expressive at just 12% alc.

An excellent, unusual wine that paired perfectly with our Mille feuille desert — 4 years ago

This is NOT the Auslese. It’s bone dry. Intensely minerally with almost a feral, animal note in the nose. Unusual for a white. Fairly intense and lively on the palate. Very interesting — 13 days ago
