Château Thivin

Cuvée La Chapelle Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2015

Lyle Fass
9.2

One of the better 15’s I have had and I really dislike the vintage. The nose is very 15 with sunshine ripened dark cherry fruit that teeters the line but it’s not quite over the line. It’s still all fruit on the nose and not much jf any soil tones. Palate is rich and delicious with decent freshness, good cut and energy and very ripe. Insanely juicy and decadent and still a baby. Needs 10+ years for this to show more Cote de Brouily versus Gamay, which is what it is showing now. — 3 months ago

Domaine Faiveley (Joseph Faiveley)

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Very dark rubi robe, no signs of 18 year old. From a half bottle which is remarquable. Notes of flowers and spices, medium bodied, balanced, great acidity and fruit. One of the last vintages before JF Mugnier took it back. Great stuff ! — 4 years ago

Bonnes Mares Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1986

Celebrate birthday, decided to drink some great burgundy. One of the best wine I ever had. Even after 35 years, it’s still solid flavor. JF Mugnier still my favorite burgundy, solid body, silky smooth with really great character. Full of surprise changing got better & better as the night went on! Beautiful wine🥰 — 3 years ago
