What you get for the extra $10 (and 250ml less) from Emperatriz Eugenia is massive compared to the entry Don Nuno (both Oloroso). Depth, complexity, something to think about.
Mahogany caramel colored with aromas of sandalwood and sweet dates. Winey sweet palette of dried figs, golden raisins, and burnt toffee. — 5 days ago
Simply gorgeous and a steal at the price for a wine of this age and complexity. — 9 days ago
On the nose it reminds me of a tawny port. Lovely hazelnut colour, rich with just a hint of sweetness. A tremendous finish with notes of caramel. Another fantastic wine from Lustau and once more a snip at the price. — 9 days ago
Vibrant fruit, blanched almonds, not so flor dominant. Develops interest on the finish.

Since reaching my third decade on this planet, I feel it’s only right to graduate to Sherry. How content I am to be introduced to this smooth talking goat from Valdespino - one of Spain’s oldest Sherry producers. Gold, cloudy and unfiltered. Hold up to the light to discover flecks of pink rose and lime around the edge. A wise nose possessing orange peel, menthol, vanilla essence and grandmas underwear drawer. A spectacular drop, that summons you to drink and think more slowly. I guess that’s why the old birds love it. Pour yourself a Sherry and slow down my friends. — 12 days ago
Kaboom. Explosive and engaging; so concentrated that it expresses as camphor, pine resin and even turpentine...then the rich, ultra-savory, dryish and nutty palate kicks in. Greatness here. — 13 days ago
Savory and dark. Lovely amontillado. Caramel and salt. — 9 days ago
