Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2012

A glorious nose. Kaleidoscopic fruit with bright cherry, violets, lifted wild strawberry. So much going on and sooo pretty. Very pure and defined on the palate. Still quite contained. I suspect this will be spectacular in a few more heard but truly delicious now. Pure class. — a month ago

Clos Rousseau Santenay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2022

Medium deep ruby with pink rim . Quite crunchy mix of summer fruits , strawberry , raspberry and touch of dark cherry , touches of violet and also slight toastiness from the oak . On the palate quite strict acidity and slightly gritty but ripe tannin , with nice fresh fruits from the nose , strawberry , dark cherry and raspberry with some black currant and a hint of wood spice. Decent length and balance , this shows pretty young and will need a little time to integrate , but is promising. Good intensity, fills out well on the palate with no lack of freshness, balanced alcohol . Better in 2-3 years and will last well a further 5-10 — 3 months ago

A crazy nose. Smells like a Barolo. Stinky tar, intense and full. Tobacco and wood. Odd. Not unpleasant but would never think this was burg? — a month ago

Les Cazetiers Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Medium garnet , narrow garnet rim. Really elegant , meaty red fruits , red rose , touch of spice. On the palate lovely balance , with fresh acidity , suave tannins . Red cherry , strawberry, raspberry , touch of sous bois. Long on the finish , earthy , chalky finish. A model of elegance, and drinkability, really incredibly moreish , got better and better over 2 -3 hours . Showing well now but will continue well over the next 8-12 years — 6 months ago

Gorgeous roses and soft plum. A super expressive and beautiful nose. Just goes in forever and the fruit is so poised and succulent. Sift, delicious and long- this is brilliant stuff — 6 months ago
