Very little color, flecks of yellow and green. Nose: citrus, tropical lychee, guava, ripe peach, honeydew, saline, a jalapeno pepper, (mostly guava and jalapeño). Taste: light body,, racing acidity, Tons of key lime, green apple, apricot, dragonfruit, jalapeno — 4 years ago
I waited years to drink this Malbec and it did not disappoint. I finally enjoyed it on Thanksgiving. Deep ruby color,
mineral, plum, blueberry and spice with hints of jalapeno. Full body, with soft and round tannins with juicy finish. Chalk and dried earth in the flavors; medium finish, perky aftertaste. — 5 years ago
Regular Txakoli except better. Weightier. Spicier. Herbaceous. The kind you'd responsibly save for a wine glass (vs. Porron). Maybe you let this warm a bit? You could. You should. It's Sprite like - lemon lime zippy and refreshing, with extra stuff - rounded curves, angles, inflections. Like a lemon lime jalapeno margarita, generously salted rim. — 2 years ago
Wow! Almost no fruit notes, only a slight hint of lemon/lime and green apple. All other notes are tertiary/secondary. Wet rocks, white blossom, slate, sea spray, jalapeno, green pea. Quite simply one of the best whites I've ever had. — 4 years ago
Nose has grilled lemon, washed strawberry, vanilla cremé, wet flint rock, dehydrated apricot and warm butter.
Palate has cooked lemon slice, fresh lemon, pineapple, cold toffee candy, wet sand and medium acidity with medium finish.
Cork pulled for a 5H slow oxidation.
@David T probably has a better note...
Agreeable pairing tonight with 'Georgian Chicken'; (local) chicken thighs with dry rub, seared in cast iron, then simmered/baked in a walnut/cilantro/jalapeno/tomato paste sauce, finished with pomegranate seeds & pomegranate vinegar drizzle. — 4 years ago
The wine I have opened is the 2021 Goose Island South Island Sauvignon Blanc. From Upper Moutre, New Zealand.
On the nose there is lime, grapefruit, tangerine, gooseberry, honeydew melon, grass, herbal notes and minerality.
On the palate is grapefruit, white peach, lime, jalapeno, herbaceousness and flintiness.
This wine is light to medium bodied with a fresh clean mouthfeel medium + acidity that leaves you with a long citrus mineral finish. We now have 3 1/2 days until Christmas and everyone has all their shopping done. Please stay safe and healthy on these days before Christmas. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 3 years ago
Nose has carmel dipped strawberry, dried lemon zest, under-ripe lychee, grilled pear slice, slightly oxidized yellow apple slice and dry crushed rock.
Palate has honey drizzle over lemon slice, neutral oak, dried pineapple, pineapple core with light acidity and medium finish. A very nice wine for 2018, hitting this much too young. At $48 this is good, if you can land for under $40 it would be a way better value.
