Was handed a glass of this and without even knowing anything was incredibly impressed. Thought it to be a French wine too, had no inkling it was Napa Cab. Beautiful purple colors that showcases a robust and complex bouquet of blackberries, dark cherry, tobacco, and chocolate. Has some spices too but they are pinned back by the fruit. Medium tannins with medium+ acids, super smooth and well balanced. Vanilla cola, cedar, black currants and more tobacco and chocolate give it a robust and lively blend. Great finish! — a month ago

A pleasant somewhat underwhelming nose. Vanilla and charred cedar on the palate, greenery, and spices. An inkling of residual sugar on the palate, but syncs nicely with the medium acid and medium tannins. Quite solid.

My true Lambrusco love - earthy (farty) crunchy red berries and pomegranate, super dry, juicy acid, great level of frizz. Woven cloth label is not to be ignored. This is such a killer food wine - muffaletta sandwich from Lucca for lunch and leftover Indian for dinner. Detecting an inkling of mouse at dinner so drink quickly. Shouldn’t be hard. — 6 years ago

Not particularly impressive in the blind - blocky, lacking elegance, and clearly Italian. Had an inkling it was a Brunello given the group I was with. It did eventually reveal some delectable elements by the end of the night. Red-fruited and saline with some oaky spice, yet I felt its energy was drained by too much dry tannins, plum-ish and earthy characters. One to revisit, though my limited experience with this producer so far has been rather lacklustre. — 2 years ago

By the process of elimination, I got the country of origin and producer right. Varietal was a little difficult with these natty reds for me, but I had a inkling with my initial guess on origin being the south of France (it’s Carignan). Wine itself was red-fruited and juicy with bright acidity and a touch of savoury twang. Didn’t find it particularly layered but I could drink a lot of this easily. — 2 years ago
