Very enjoyable. Valentines Day 2023. At home. Grilled filet mignon. Asparagus. Brussel sprouts. Home made chocolate chip cookies. Loved it. — 3 months ago
Smooth, average body, well-balanced, fruity — 4 months ago
The 2019 Merlot is spicy and perfumed with wild blueberries, cloves and dried flowers. It boasts silky textures and inner sweetness as red and blue fruits flow across a juicy, acidic core. Tobacco, cocoa and lavender resonate toward a finish framed by a gentle coating of rounded tannins. $15.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2023) — a month ago
2003 Vintage, still holding up very well. Smooth and flavorful — 2 months ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Purple in color with a purplish rim.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth, licorice and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 8 year old Merlot is peaking now. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Tasty and easy drinking. Will continue to drink nicely in the next couple of years.
Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine.
Wine Enthusiasts 89 points.
Rich and fruit forward. Spicy and entertaining.
I had a few vintages before, and it is very consistent.
Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Oaky. Buttery. I like it! — a month ago
Even as someone who loves the funk, I find these HP wines to need every bit of 10yrs to really unfurl and balance out. In my opinion, the Syrah with similar age shows a bit more dark fruit whereas this was more red floral.
Double decanted an hour, then consumed over the next 2-3hrs. Last glass was the best, but not overly different from the first. There is still signature funk, crunchy and green stems, peppered raspberries, olive, and iron, but the red floral/potpourri notes started to jump alongside a citrus/pomegranate flair. Great nervy acidity and tannin. Desperately needs food (went well with charcuterie board). If you enjoy these with some balance, this is starting to enter that window. — 2 months ago
Another surprise here at the end of the year. Didn’t realize Canoe Ridge had this in their reservoir. Wonderfully complex Cab Sauv from Washington State, Horse Heaven Hills. Gripping, intense yet smooth and complete. Specially produced for Washington State University. GO COUGS!! — 5 months ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Bordeaux blend from Washington State.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, cola, black pepper, light vegetables, earth and licorice.
Feels like a Napa Cabernet with light age. Showing great complexity already.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Very yummy now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
This is a fabulous Cabernet.
