This wine is like licking and biting an Hermes Birkin bag (not that I have done that). Licorice, vanilla, moist fresh clean prunes. An olfactory feast. Overpriced relative to the Gaudo al Tasso 2009, but superior to many some pricier Supertuscans. It's a feast, worthy of sinking your teeth into. But needs a rare fillet steak. — 12 years ago

I adore this site. The texture is always on point. Restrained opulence is the calling card here. Nose is super complex and stoney out of the gates. Really a mess of limestone and some fresh hermes Then the intense ripe cherry leaks through. Black cherry, red cherry, sour cherry all at once. Nuclear levels of spice, stone and even some mulberry. Superb balance and energy with compelling sweetness and stoniness. Lush, plush texture that will get even more lush and plus with air. Very seductive. Oh man the tiny berry fruit intensity is off the charts. Juicy and so sweet but backed up by insane energy and stoniness. Opening by the minute. Terrific inner mouth aromas and just amazing velvety tannins. 9.5 for now but let’s see the go higher with air. — a year ago

Wine is deep garnet. Smells like violet, decomposed bramble and slate. Immense aroma. Overwhelming. On the palate violet, cherry and strawberry. Elegant hermes leather and a touch of wet slate. Quite delicious. It wants to be a refined Sangiovese but it's more than that. Quite nice. — 5 years ago
