Always a notch above the pack of FLX dry Rieslings. Good concentration, fine texture and some complexity. Seamless and perfectly balanced, with essential Riesling fruitiness unmarred by reduction or by the crude, dark minerality that shale-heavy vineyards can sometimes convey. #flxriesling #wiemer — 3 months ago
Stunning example of what 40 year old vines can do in the Finger Lakes. Awesome fruit, incredibly floral and wonderful acid balance with citrus, white peach, melon, honey and rose petal. Very ripe fruit fermented dry.
Part of the vineyard is biodynamic. Gorgeous with a long life ahead (but who can resist it now?) — 2 months ago
Interesting Single Vineyard Riesling from one of the best FLX producers. Yes, there is residual sugar, but it is balanced by crisp acidity. Pears, grapefruit and a hint of slate and petrol. A taste of vanilla wafers on the finish. I prefer a dry Riesling, but this little “sweetie” is quite delicious. Great as a dessert wine or with hot and spicy food. — 22 days ago

Slightly sweet, Pear tastes like Alsace all day long — 3 months ago
Today started with a ~13hr drive to the southwest Chicago suburbs for the Christmas holiday, perfect driving weather and minimal traffic. My father-in-law decanted this for a couple hours in advance of our arrival. They really enjoy Missouri wines, this Norton is always special. I was smitten after we were lucky to enjoy a bottle from '83 that was in perfect condition, just a few years back.
Nose has plum juice, plum skin, raspberry juice and a light, sweet herbal note.
Palate has plum juice, black cherry compote, tanned leather and gentle tannins.
Lovely bottle, likely 10 years yet to go. — 3 months ago
