Pure Red Burgenland Zweigelt Blend 2017

Starts with a proper stinkerl, then turns to the most aromatic bacon & roast (vegans, look away) only to slowly open up with lovely pure black cherry & cassis with a touch of liquorice. Lighter on the palate than the nose would suggest, but with great balance, purity and tension between the fruit and the minerality. Juicy and with light yet grippy tannins. 1h after opening this beauty sings.

Thermenregion Rotgipfler

Aromatic. Definitely gingerbread on the top end and fig paste and orange peel below. Pleasant acidity and winter melon, nuts, and light citrus oil flavors. Enjoyable! — 5 days ago

Riserva Südtirol Lagrein 2010

Deep garnet hue, tertiary, sweet/sour, energetic acid for its aged character, lingering dusty tannin and amaro spice. Old leather, dried and stewed cherry/plum fruit, dust, porcini, animal hide, hung meat, cigar wrapper, bitter roots, bitter cocoa powder, wet earth, mulch, rotting leaves. Love its chewy and upfront impact on the palate. Very complex and very drinkable — 2 months ago

Elda Rosso Schiava

Great northern Italian wine, would have thought it was a Pinot if blind tasting. Earthy, barnyard, lush dark fruit! — 16 days ago

B....... Bianco Blatterle 2015

Unique and singular, aromatic, rich mouthfeel and driven by bitter phenolics and earthy spices. Jasmine, tea leaves, subtle yellow fruit, grapey, sweaty socks. Steely minerality, oily texture — 2 months ago

Another great Blauburgunder from Austria - had it with Swiss bread and Rosetta salami, tomino in oil with truffle and vegetables crudités. — 3 months ago
