Lovely wine combining the delicacy, elegance, & finesse of Alto Piemonte nebbiolo and the concentration of appassimento grapes. Haunting nose, velvet palate. Supremely elegant. Cherry heering, soft tannins, dense fruit, medium finish. Needs upwards of 2 hours in the decanter, but 2012 is drinking beautifully now. — 3 years ago
So tight even after 6 hours of air. Really singular. Not much in common with its Provençal brethren (sistren?). Cranberry, rose petals, cherry heering. Massive tannins, little discernible heat. Angular. Attenuated nose. Hold for now, but if you must drink, decant the day before. Fun wine to geek out on. — 4 years ago
Well I felt I should not open this for a while but my impulse control is not always the best. But I had people to share with so what the heck. Blind tasting, if given this I really would not ever guess cab franc. That is a compliment for cab francs. This is so silky, so cherry rich with a hint of the ground I'd think some sort of California blend--I will give it that much-And not involving cab franc-- But the best idea of the taste of this wine you could linger on forever-- is a cross between walking under gnarly mulberry trees when I was young and cherries I've soaked in Cherry Heering PLUS, say, a scoop of soil. Nowhere do I see the gnarly green pepper notes I see in oh so many cab
Francs. This one gives me hope for the cab francs of the future. May they all be so rich. Thank you @Paul Treadway ! This is a cab franc I'm grateful my chums did not finish because...I will — 8 years ago
Hot off the presses — almost literally — the just released 2020 Evangelho field blend is tasty and full of potential. Medium, translucent purple, blooming right out of the bottle, and loaded with mouth watering acidity. It’s full of the best parts of cherry heering, solid tannins and a low pH that makes it have an almost effervescent feel. When that calms down after a couple hours, there’s beautiful fruit and light oak signaling good things to come. — 3 years ago
Luscious, dense Cali Pinot. Peter Heering cherry liqueur, earthy spices, & overtures of cola/root beer. — 6 years ago
Cherry heering, blackberry jam, clay, bay leaf, mint, bell pepper, pencil shavings. Balanced acid/rough velvet tannin balance, juicy texture, medium bodied, earthy-herbal-slightly smoky finish. Inviting light toned aromatics, food friendly structure and finish. Unique interpretation of Cabernet. — 7 years ago
Cherry Heering, sun dried tomato, dried thyme, cedar, cigar box, sage, iron, graphite. Sharp acid/wide rough velvet tannins, medium-full body, juicy texture, mineral driven, earthy, smoky, slightly bitter finish. Classic Chianti profile. From a magnum. — 8 years ago

Bedrock’s ‘22 “Joel” is a beautiful ruby almost pinot-like color. The nose is musty, dark cherries, like Cherry Heering. It starts with a powerful wave of dark fruit, with underlying bite — ripe but not too. Great balance and depth. — 9 months ago
