Viognier with mustard seeds (7 in bottle to be exact).
Couldn’t detect mustard in the wine, dont believe the negative reviews about the wine being unpleasant. Grey Poupon is made with Viognier, and this Viognier from Napa was made with mustard seeds (unsure if local or from Dijon). Fun.
Crisp Viognier, paired nicely with Chicken in Mustard Sauce. Geeky & tasty. Glad I jumped and scored the limited edition wine, which came with a bottle of Grey Poupon mustard and recipes for pairing. — a month ago
Bologna and sweet tarts. It’s got zest, some funk, meaty smell with some initial barn farts, but really smooths out. It’s the best adult meal—preserved meat and corner store candy. — a month ago
Dark cherry and spice nose. More dark cherry on the palate with cola, plum, cooked strawberry, cinnamon, clove, oak, with a hint of cocoa. Medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins, and high alcohol. — a month ago
A little on the sweet side compared to some of their other Syrahs. Opened up nicely the second day. Pretty inky. — a month ago
Color of light purple, a bit grey and cloudy. Nose of sweet dark fruits, a bit hickory, a bit strawberry, some vanilla and spice, and a bit oaky note. Taste is following the nose, low tannins, a bit pepper and zesty, some bitter note on the 2nd sip, ripe grapes and more sweet note. Aftertaste shows some more oaky note. Quite clean yet too sweet for me. — 15 days ago
Tasted blind I’d never have guessed Nebbiolo or even an Italian variety. That said, it was delightful. — a month ago
Excellent for the price! A cab drinker’s Malbec. Dark fruit but not overly so. Balanced and earthy. Would get again. Grey first xplor wine club bottle! — 13 days ago
