Grand Lux Cafe

Domaine Dujac

Aux Malconsorts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Stunningly beautiful and perfumed nose that is distinctive Dujac. That seductive stemmy spice. The palate, although perhaps a wee bit less generous is pure silk. Regal texture and ultra lux mouthfeel with Grand Cru weight and intensity along with excellent precision and focus.

Black and blue fruit and pixelated minerals intertwine with Dujac whole bunch character along with a touch of cocoa on the backpalate and fine grain tannins, lead to a persistent and lifted finish. This is packed with tension and substance to age effortlessly for decades. Malco always a special wine. Baby Tâche ❤️

B: strong acidity. Dry. Medium complexity with fruit notes. Very drinkable. Very enjoyable. Paired well with food at Cafe Juanita.
J: colorful. Strong bubble. Great story...better in a more open glass...pairs well with all foods.

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos St. Denis Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2011

A Burgundy Thanksgiving part 2. Zuni Cafe chicken/bread salad recipe for dinner!!

One hour decant. An impressive dark crimson color. On the nose: earth, black cherry, smoke, potting soil, meaty, minty. Taste: a velvety full body wine with raspberry, floral, spice, wet leaves, and a dry cedar cherry medium plus finish. An ending little tannic kick lets you know it wants more time in the bottle.

Jean Noel Gagnard

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2013

Really quite a wine. Palate expanding in the best way, just don’t think I’ve had non Chablis white Burgundy of this quality before. Appearance is a deep dark lemon yellow. Unbelievable nose with a ton of depth and with a lot of white peach and some spicy notes. On the palate this is very mouth filling but still super precise. Loads of flavor waves over the tongue. Finish is crazy long and the acid level is obviously quite high but manages to express that while still staying very balanced. Perfect with a ”Zuni cafe” style roast chicken on a Sunday night. — 5 years ago
