It also has a bit of chardonnay and riesling in various percentages depending on the vintage.
Favorita vines are pretty old, they were planted in 1980. It is a clone of vermentino apparently that has established itself in Piemonte.
The wine is dry, personality, freshness and it is easy drinking.
The price is a bonus.

Luca Maroni gave this wine a 95. I wouldn’t go that high but it is very good — 3 months ago
At Stefano’s: The wine was well aged. The tannins were silky with notes of dried red fruit, leather, baking spices, and vanilla. — 2 months ago
A black cherry punch to start. A touch of vanilla. It's a dark wine for such an even tannin profile. The vanilla lingers. Light acidity. Had it with pasta/marinara. But a nice wine for Italian dishes. — a month ago
Medium orange-rimmed ruby in color. Not too expressive on the nose: some dried flowers, albeit with stems and potting soil. Medium plus bodied. Medium minus acidity. Dry with nice initial palate feel but then gives way to bitterness and somewhat rough tannins. Medium alcohol at 14.0ABV but feels hotter. Some cranberry/unripe strawberry left, but not much else--pehaps some woody vanilla. At 8 years old, I would expect some tertiary flavors to have begun to develop. I don't think this is improving. It's a strong Brunello with a stiff upper lip, would pair well with a Florentine steak, but not elegant.

DOCG. Picked up at Total Wine. Notes of cherry, oak, spice. Great price. Excellent with bolognese. — 2 days ago
