Perfect Alsatian Gewurtz. Drinking 2013 in 2022, at its peak. Aromas of lychee, candied pinneapple, apricot, with a subtle tropical spritzyness almost evervescently revealing notes of peach and mango. Mouth feel is spot on perfect. Robustly letter the honeyed residual sugars and tasty melon citrus notes shine. This is everything I love about wine and one of my favorite grapes. — 2 years ago

2016 vintage. Nose has waves of ink, dark cherry, mushrooms, incense cedar and earth. Light-medium body. Pretties up on a dry but gilded tobacco, plum and spicy boysenberry finish. Brickish tannins smooth out fairly quickly. Classy and with plenty of staying power. — 3 years ago

Celebration time! The hubby is OFFICIALLY full professor. Got the letter from the university prez today. So to celebrate: cava brute nature. Aroma of pear with a dash of almond.. Zesty taste of lime, green apple, seashell and chalk. A little bitter at the end but I still like it. Good on its own or would be good to make cocktails out of. — 2 years ago

Good new world Chardonnay with decent amount of aging. Nice golden color at this age. White fruits, stones and that buttery creamy oaky notes carrying through to palate but very balanced with complexity and minerality coming forth in the finish. A sense of luxuriousness but not gawky and over gilded. Prime example of what California can do for this versatile grape. Easily bested the others (Nymers etc) AA 14 excellent value 495 cases. Single block within Durell Vineyard in Sonoma. — 3 years ago
