Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, bell pepper, forest floor, herbs, and dark cherry. On the palate, blueberry, dark berry, cassis, pepper, spice, toasted oak, vanilla, chocolate, and a long finish. Full bodied, rich and balanced. — 21 days ago

Reserve Seventeen Forty Paso Robles Red Blend 2020

New vintage of this classic Daou blend. Now at 85% Cab Franc this is powerful fruit, dark and dense, but mellow tannins. Drinks beautifully. I am glad I am having this as part of the grand finale before Dry February. 💀😎🍷 — 5 months ago

Monterey County Pinot Noir 2020

This Monterey County Pinot Noir is fairly dark and very fragrant in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, black tea, licorice and cinnamon put together the kind of display that makes me think of the holidays. Dark fruit dominates the palate, and a full set of tannins accompany the juicy sip. The Los Angeles-based Riboli family recommends pairing their Highlands 41 Pinot with grilled sausage, pasta primavera, baked salmon or roasted duck. I would toss in turkey and ham as excellent pairings. I had mine with lemon and honey Wensleydale cheese, and it was beautiful. — 5 years ago

Back Forty Beer Co.

Peanut Butter Porter

Love the packaging and it was actually quite nice. Smells rich, creamy, malty, and nutty. So is the palate - thick bittersweet chocolate drink. Finishes creamy and syrupy. Admittedly not as peanut buttery as expected, but it's a tasty decadent beer. — 6 years ago

My first thought: this wine is flat. That may sound like a bad thing, but it is not. I am finding my first impressions of wine, thus far, are smooth, flat, grip, buttery (the Chards), sharp, minerally (Pinot Grigio), peppery (which I think is my interpretation of tannins). I am still learning what makes my tongue tell my brain these textures, however. Texture is a good word here. This wine almost lacks a texture. Henceforth, flat. It has wonderful flavors, but this wine does not grip the tongue like some others. Therefore, I like to wash spicy food down with this wine. Because it doesn’t coat my tongue the way a wine with grip does...or even the way a smooth wine may. My husband does not like alcohol. He said this wine was smooth. The bottle says vanilla flavors. Vanilla in scents and flavors = a bit of calm (at least for me). A homy kind of calm. This wine is calm—flat, but it is not homy. Too much flavor for that. I am fascinated by the contradictions in this wine. 🧐. I could accidentally drink the whole bottle in one setting because it is so calm yet full of flavor. — 7 years ago

The Black Stump Durif Shiraz 2024

What’s Durif? Loved the combo with Australian Shiraz. Red and blackberry and cherry with a touch of oak and smoke. This was quite the fruit bomb with mild tannins and medium body. Please sir. . . I want some more. — 5 months ago

Consumed 03/2020. It has intense flavors, plush mouthfeel, and deep color. Ripe blackberry and plum flavors are complemented by spicy oak from barrel aging. Enjoy with grilled steaks, rich stews, and hearty pastas.. 14.5% alcohol by volume. — 6 years ago
