Rosé. Like a pack of Starbursts. Juicy. Raspberry, cherry, cacao, and tropical fruit. Medium acid. — 6 years ago
How blessed am I....Friday date night with a beautiful, smart, loving, woman who is all about our kids and our marriage. Celebrating her and our diet cheat night with a bottle we’ve been saving since early Scandal nights. Great wine, smooth, jammy, and aromas of Napa. — 6 years ago
The BV Tapestry doesn’t show its real self and value until it approaches 20 years. When you open these inside 10 years, it’s an average to very good wine depending on vintage. I’ve said it many times, you simply can’t get this kind of elegance and flat gorgeous complexity with any amount of decanting. You cannot fake or cheat long bottle evolution.
The one quality I get from this bottling at this age is Cognac with deep caramel flavors.
The nose reveals, dark currants, deep blackberries, dark liqueur cherries, baked, black plum, black raspberries, blueberries, baked rhubarb pie, poached strawberries, anise, heavily steeped tea, limestone minerals, dry, crushed, rock powder, sweet tarriness, soft leather, hints of graphite, dry twig, salted caramel, Cognac, herbaceous notes-bay leaf, dark, rich, turned earth, hints of mushroom, hints of; vanillin, clove, nutmeg, understated, medium, dark spice, saline, peppercorns, dark, red, fresh & withering florals with fields of violets and lavender. Floral heaven and then some!
The body is round & full. The mouthfeel is gorgeously sexy. The tannins are round, soft but, still show some teeth & tarriness. The structure, tension, length and balance are exquisite and still has at least 5 years of life ahead. It’s magnificently on the other side of its peak. Dark currants, deep blackberries, dark liqueur cherries, baked, black plum, black raspberries, blueberries, baked rhubarb pie with golden crust, poached strawberries, kirsch cherries, figs, prunes, dates, anise, heavily steeped tea, limestone minerals, dry, crushed, rock powder, sweet tarriness, soft leather, hints of graphite, dry twig, salted caramel, dark chocolate, Cognac, herbaceous notes-bay leaf, dark, rich, turned earth, hints of mushroom, hints of; vanillin, clove, nutmeg, understated, medium, deep, dark spice with shades of palate heat, saline, peppercorns, dark, red, fresh & withering florals with fields of violets and lavender. The acidity is flat out perfect. The long finish is; extremely well balanced fruit & earth, elegant, gorgeous, sexy, silky, ripe, lush, captivates the whole body, persists until you go to bed and even intrudes on your dreams.
While 94, no ordinary 94 with its age, complexity & beauty. It’s a WOW wine that rocks your mind, body & soul if you are deeply passionate about wine as I am. You want to slowly sip this all night.

If one could polish a roasted rack of lamb with essential oil of Syrah I imagine this to be it. Always a winner. It's almost like a cheat code because there is no mystery as to whether this will be enjoyed by everyone or not. Always 👍🏼 — 11 years ago
When you see Bérêche on the list, you feel like you entered a cheat code and this bottle, disgorged 11/2021, underscores yet again the incredible value presented by the “Brut Réserve”. It’s a beautiful golden color in the glass with persistent mousse and lovely weight and viscosity in the palate. This is so rich with an abundance of fruit and yet so balanced with remarkable acidity. It’s a perfect aperitif but would play an excellent partner to any meal as well. These wines are truly special and becoming more and more elusive. I’m taking advantage while I can. — 4 years ago
The type of wine id cheat on other wine for — 6 years ago
1st of the New Year/New Decade diet cheat night with the wifey. Trying something new...on recommendation from the waiter. Smooth, slightly jammy with a small bite. Defiantly a wine to have again. — 6 years ago
Kicking off with this bottle to start a night is putting in a cheat code for a game. Layers and layers of flavors. Pears, apricot compote, yeasty goodness and more. #primetimewinetime #右上の会 — 8 years ago
Nice Cab, plenty of character and tannins — 8 years ago
First encounter. Interesting funky nose with stones and minerals. Acidic balance with some stone fruit and medium body and good finish. Reminds me of that Matthiasson Ribolla except less weighty and stony and more fruit. It's Gruner Veltliner! All natural. Will be excellent with food. — 9 years ago
Love it! Not too sweet but just enough! — 11 years ago

From magnum.
Slightly macerated blend of Gruner Veltliner, Neuburger, Sauvignon, Pálava and Riesling. This makes it an easy drinking light orange wine with muscat like aromas of rose water. Chill it properly and enjoy with food as it is exactly what Forks & Knives has been made for.
Drink and don't think. — 5 years ago
Nestarec is up there with the most cultish of natural wine and tiniest of allocation. Last year, I tried his white Forks & Knives. I really didn’t like it. It seemed dead and mid- ferment. But the red here (all Pinot), is so incredibly alive. It’s spiritual. The aromas jump at you - bright red fruits and a heavy dose of rocky minerals. And cooked, smoked, agave. And iodine - the smell of your hands after cracking open red lobster. And raging acid. Ok, Nestarec, ok. — 6 years ago

Worth a drinking cheat night for a glass of this — 8 years ago
Ok ok.... it’s been a while! Maybe this is a holiday affair! I cheat on France when I’m away, shush, she’ll never know. I’m 40,000 feet/11k in meters high on Virgin Atlantic Wi-fi (this is clearly the future). ‘The Storey’
I bought two within the last two weeks. Bought and opened on recommendation (local wine shop in the village). The looks - label old skool European, 15%+ dark and stormy. I drank both bottles at two diffident occasions and felt the same emotion (bit 80’s I know)...... skiing in Whistler, snowy night with Mrs W. Kids sleeping and a plate of plastic North American cheese. Don’t be angry, I loved it. There are wines to be drunk in winter and there are cold wines. This one at room/blood temperature (27c/80f) with 40mins breathing time and it just floored us. I want to point out this wine is not a quick drink. I bolt red like blueberry/cranberry/black currant juice but it just wouldn’t be rushed. Smooth and I mean smooth. Salty, Carmel and Brandy/almonds....... No other description will describe. It’s just like maple syrup in consistency. It snowed outside but it shon in the glass. Second date: New Year’s Eve, -13 outside. 4 other people I didn’t really know on an impromptu dinner. We ate, drank and talked (I talked rubbish but I’ll never see them again) then it came time for the cheese board. The wine was too cold when we arrived. It was too cold for starter and mains but 3hrs in, opened and primed it was sit you down amazing (again). A NYE to remember. Don’t take it from me, ask the nobodies I’ll never see again. I thought maybe I’d/we’d just had a moment the time before but it’s that good (it really was). Don’t take my word for it, try it alone or with strangers but make sure you drink it slooooooooowly — 8 years ago
