Saint-Joseph Syrah

I’m really hoping this is in a difficult stage. Much richer than I was anticipating. Lacked the energy to carry everything through the finish which was short. The flavor profile and aromatics were very northern Rhône though.

Meaty and metallic plump dark fruit with black olive notes. (Passion Fish in Monterey)

First, mortal bottle chez Gonon. Slightly spritzy, soda-pop style seemingly indicating instability and diluting focus, precision. Piscine style as slushie could be interesting. Have drunk '13 several times from both 750ml & 375ml and have never experienced a bottle in this condition previously.

My kind of Syrah. Great intensity of flavor. Almost Cornas like.

I can drink over and over again!

Kit, killing it! The wine screams everything we want except more time in bottle!

Cuu amigos

Was a strange experience upon popping the bottle. Classic gonan hid beneath the surface of wild acid. With a lil decant it integrated and the black olive and stone Rhône emerged. Not a flawed bottle but an expression I haven’t had before. Perfect with chicken Marsala.

I enjoyed the 14 yesterday so I decided to open the 13 tonight. Seemed tighter & more youthful than the 14 showing notes of dark fruits, meat, olive, mineral & violets.

Beautiful wine. So young, but so much smoked gamy meat, black pepper and olive. Long palate staining finish. Love this.
