Château Rauzan-Ségla
Margaux Grand Cru Classé Red Bordeaux Blend 2012
The 2012 Rauzan-Ségla has a similar colour to the 2015 although it has a hard time competing with the delineation, the crystalline nature of the 2015. Yet it compensates with the sheer aromatic flamboyance. This has really opened up in the last 18 months or so, quite lush and precocious black fruit, loam and iris, just a slight hint of bell pepper emanating from the small amount of Cabernet Franc. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin. There is a lovely seam of acidity here that lends the 2012 a sense of focus. It is not a deep or lavish Rauzan-Ségla, in some ways a little more conservative than I recall. There is fine grip on the saline finish, perhaps a Margaux that is just beginning to close up for a while? This still has great potential. Tasted at the Rauzan-Ségla vertical at the château. I concur with @vinokeeno and Jeb D on this - just outstanding at $45. It’s piercing, riveting and focused. Great tannic structure. No flamboyance, just very well presented fruit. Dry presentation, yet sweetish on the downswing. I just ordered another 6 pack. It’s that strong. — 2 years ago

Villa Patrizia's 2015 Albatraia is bold, ample and creamy, with a level of pure flamboyance and darkness that is not especially typical of Ciliegiolo. Even so, all the elements are very nicely balanced. The dark cherry and plum fruit speaks with an intriguing combination of power and voluptuousness. Bonnes Mares Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1999
1999 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Chambolle-Musigny Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru: from Jay. Little darker to the eye then one would expect. Surprisingly restrained on the nose. None of the flamboyance I usually expect from this wine. Some dark fruits and a little black earth. Across the palate the wine is big but in a constrained fashion - very silky. The mid Palate is fulfilling although I found the finish to be of good length but a little green/bitter. I would probably give this another couple of years. 93/100. Drink 2020 to 2035. — 8 years ago

OMG 21 Baden Scheurebe is lights out! Psycho nose. Unreal xmas spice, sweet sage, minerals, sweet grass, indica, herbs of all sorts, black currants and grapefruit. Just sickness. 9.5 nose. Out of this world. Wow, what acid, what grip, what flamboyance! Chock full of energy, green fruits and so much acid and drive. This pushes on the finish like nothing else and is god tier juicy. I love this wine. So long. More to come with air. This got so aristocratic and elegant with air. Wow. — a year ago
