Vintage 2013 | 90 Tempranillo 10 Syrah | Warm, spicy, a bit rustic, rich. When wine has ripened it often is more difficult to determine its origin. My winefriends thought Barbera and I fully understand this. I drank it with a fillet steak and salad and I like the combination of velvety structure and rustic smell. It is a reflection wine. Vines are 75 y old. 24 months barrel aging on new French and American oak. — 5 months ago

This is the 2nd rated Vasse Felix Chardonnay behind the world class Heytesbury and ahead of the amazing value Filius. This was my last 2017 having made no notes for the first two. Expresses everything which is great about Margaret River Chardonnay. Complexity without cost. Ripe grapefruit with a balanced creamy French oak note which is largely integrated at 7 years of age. More citrus than stone fruit - a little nectarine? Great QPR at $31 AUD. — a year ago

An amazing high level Margaret River Chardonnay drinking at its peak. Smoky herbal aromas with ripe grapefruit. A medium + bodied palate of profound intensity. Still mainly citrus and ripe grapefruit notes on the palate with mineral. Great right now but would go on at this level for a year or two. My last bottle of the 2015. — 8 days ago
