Fattoria Poggio di Sotto

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2012

Wow, stunning wine 9 years on albeit probably a tad early to reap full reward. Red fruits on the nose with a hint of woodiness. Exquisite on the palate, medium body and decent depth with a long finish. Absolutely hit the mark, similar to their Brunello but holding its own now and for years to come I’m sure. — 19 days ago

Poggio Verde Frascati Superiore Malvasia Trebbiano

Love it. A lot of frascati is not much, but this is really good. Mineral, complex, so good with food. On a hot day get some charcuterie and this wine and pretend you are in Italy. — 18 days ago

Poggio al Moro Bolgheri Sangiovese Blend 2016

Tim L

Super Tuscan or not, this is a full-flavored tasty rendition of the Sangeovesi genre. Excellent wine, 2016 vintage. Big dry dry dry but notably bold palate, dark plum, deep-dark berry full flavor this is a softly powerful wine. Evident tannins yet balanced astringency and finish...great with pasta, marinara - as we had tonight. — 4 hours ago

Poggio Anima

Asmodeus Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2018

Bursting with tart dark fruit, like a black plum with it's tart thick skin. Balanced with a nice licorice sweetness on the finish. Super enjoyable! — 22 days ago

Il Poggio

Sannio Aglianico 2017

Great value. Bold and brooding, earthy spicy and leathery balanced by blackberry fruit. Full-bodied and chewy, with a nice acidity to stand up to meaty ragus — a day ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 1999

One of my favorite producers of BM only exceeded by Soldera. Rich & balanced with good length showing notes of red fruits, dried cherry, leather, dried herbs, savory spices & tobacco leaf. — a month ago

What vintage is this, Ron?

Poggio Verrano

Dròmos Maremma Toscana Super Tuscan Blend

On the nose a stable, dark fruit, wet leaves, licorice. A big wine in other words, this Super Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Alicante, 10% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. On the palate there is softness, round, dark fruit, some tobacco. A lively wine with a bite. Great surprise. — a month ago
