This is always worth drinking, but the 18 is a couple of notches less impressive than the 16. A bit thinner, more vegetal, but still has the crystalline fruit and clarity of structure. — 4 years ago

Tikal is owned by Ernesto Catena and is named after his son. Ernesto spent his childhood in the vineyards of Mendoza among local wine-growers. Deep red with purple edges and aged in oak for about 10 months. Aromas of berry fruit and spicy notes. On the palate raspberry and plum flavors with oak, cacao and cinnamon spice. Vivid acidity, dusty fine tannins ending with slight earthy edge. Nice value! — 8 years ago
