Really good. A bit tight. Prob needs decanting. I’m too lazy. Dark fruit with that meatiness one hopes for. 2022. — 5 months ago

Pfersigberg Alsace Grand Cru Riesling

Beautiful golden color. Intense fruit on the nose followed by the same on the palate-lychee pear melon honey. Touch of sugar. A great Alsace Gewurtztraminer!! — 5 years ago

La Viallière Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2018

Delectable Wine
9.4

Dark violet. Spice- and mineral-accented black and blue fruit aromas show excellent definition and pick up olive, smoky bacon and candied violet notes with air. Sappy and concentrated but energetic as well, offering palate-staining blackberry, bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that become spicier as the wine opens up. Melds power and finesse with a sure hand and finishes impressively long and sweet, with chewy tannins building steadily. All whole clusters and 10% new oak, a combination of foudres and demi-muids. Museum Reserve The Contours Riesling 2015

This keeps impressing, easily comparable to Trimach Cuvee Frederic Emile. Heavy petrol with citrus, but not as much complexity as other Aussie Rieslings. Nice finish but not particularly lengthy. — 3 years ago

@Rene Van De Beek Nee. Mooie wijn, maar te hoog in zuren vonden verschillende proevers. En stond naast de geweldige 2017 Wagner Stempel GG Heerkretz 😏

Eguisheim Alsace Pinot Noir 1550

There’s depth and “cut” to it that invites more comparisons to its Burgundy cousins than its German ones, so give it 30 minutes or so in a decanter before diving in: Serve it at a cool 60 degrees in Burgundy stems and you’ve got one of the most versatile reds for food one could possibly ask for. This will sing with a wide range of proteins, from salmon all the way up to beef, but I can’t resist an old-school Alsatian pairing—tarte flambée. Smoky bacon, creamy cheese, crisp crust…that’ll work for me! Enjoy! — 5 years ago
