Nose has cranberry sauce, red Twizzler® candy, white pepper, ripe plum, mashed red raspberry and lightly toasted oak.
Palate has ripe cherry, ripe red raspberry, fresh cranberry, light ripe plum with mild (drying) tannins and a medium finish.
Cork pulled for a 4H slow oxidation, then 1H decant. This wine is still a teenager, the 2016 should easily hold thru 2024.
Blend of Pinot Noir & Blaufränkisch.
Paired to lemon chicken in a dill cream sauce; cast iron pan from stove top to oven, becoming our most versatile piece of cookware! — 3 days ago
An explosion of honey wax aroma. It's like eating a comb.
Peony, caramel, dark chocolate.
What a fabulous NY wine. Definitely not a traditional sweet Gewürz. — 5 days ago

A very solid effort for the new, second label from Ravines Wine. I'll gladly pull some of these into our future wine club ships, at under $15 this is solid buy.

Very round and balanced. On the nose: cherry, baking spices, apple pie, cherry. Jolly Rancher on the palate! Was great with roasted pork chops. — 4 days ago
Balanced acid. Dry, stony, minerality. Round.
Concentrated/sappy center with light edges - like a jammy soft boiled egg. Savory and a little chewy. Loved it! — 8 days ago
Date drank: August 2018
Producer: Bloomer Creek
Grape(s): 50% Reisling, 50% cayuga white
Region: Cayuga Lake. Finger lakes. NY
Natty: yes. Low input organic vineyards. No sulfer added
Tasting Notes: First, the nose was amazing, very aromatic with hints of orange peel, honey, lemon maybe ? Its a late harvest but fermented to dryness and amazingly balanced with fruit and sweetness while also being dry and clean. Doesnt cloy and goes well with fish or light summer vegetables. I still dream about this wine — 10 days ago
Nose has amazing Gardenia aromas, sweet honey, freshly milled white pepper and cold wax.
Palate has over-ripe cantaloupe, honey drizzle on green melon, (light) lemon/orange zest and juiced Clementine (faint). Light on the acidity and a bit long on the finish. Decanted 60m. (92-93 points, very nice)
Spectacular pairing to fried eggs (backyard egg factory paying its dues even in the cold of winter) over toasted couscous, softened garlic & red onion, fresh green onion and the star of the dish za'atar (I could eat this on cereal!). — 24 days ago
exceptional Cab Franc, rivals the best I've had from Loire. — 5 days ago
