Argetsinger Vineyard Dry Riesling
I’ve had several bottles now of this delicious “Finger Lakes GG.” All sorts of minerals and damp limestoney earth (much like in Chablis) on the nose. Some crisp appley fruit. Dry, intense, clingy, and minerally in the mouth. Deep fruit as well. Long and so well balanced. Grazie, fratello!

Aug 8th, 2023From my brother’s stash, such a beautiful Finger Lakes Riesling. More German GG than Alsace GC. Nose has bright apple fruit, with a fleeting note of almost ripe peach, green herbs, clover, and a minerality that reminds me a bit of Chablis because of a little brothy note. Perfect balance in the mouth: fruit, acids, minerality, alcohol. Lip-smacking long finish, and bone dry throughout.

Nov 3rd, 2022Structured and concentrated but racy; petrol-forward; fruit is plenty ripe but there is a green, herbal component; sort of harsh but the finish brings a softer, honeyed note. A bit lacking for pleasure now, but very interested to revisit this a couple years down the line.

May 16th, 2021I’d put this up against top Rieslings from anywhere. Great nose with loads of petrol, slate, meadow flowers, fresh apple/grape fruit, and a hint of honey. Bone dry in the mouth, loads of acidity and stony minerality, very refreshing. Good length. Nice as an aperitif but damn I wish I had a plate of seared scallops to go with it!

Jul 23rd, 2022Riesling from a steep-sloped vineyard on the southeastern shores of Seneca Lake, with vines rooted in shallow, limestone soils. Dry, mineral, hints of rubber on the nose. Citrus (lemon) and chalk on the palate. Fresh, zesty acidity
