12/25 wine was nicely resolved after 15 years. Big, rich, dark wine. 89 — 6 months ago
One of Hirsch’s more rugged bottlings, being on the east ridge. Opened way to early. So much acidity and freshness overwhelmed the darker fruits you could tell sat beneath. Lots of promise. Will wait on the next one. — 9 months ago
Bright & light. Weird Floral greens. Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Dornfelder/////////////
A day later the fruit is near perfect. Not sure what blew off, but now totally balanced. — 4 years ago
Exceptional chardonnay with the latent power of a GC burgundy, but with salinity and tannic grip. Beautiful nose with reductive gunsmoke, apple, and baking spices. The structure is the perfect fit for the intense and powerful flavour bomb: lemon merengue pie, smoke, tangerine, all in perfect balance. The concentration and length are world class. As long as I can remember of ANY wine I have tasted. World class for A$90 — 3 months ago

Stunning. Everything tied together beautifully after a couple of years in bottle. Delicious stuff!! — 4 years ago
Wonderful Long Island Bordeaux-style red blend from a winery that no longer exists. Blend of Cabernet Franc (50%), Malbec (25%) and Petite Verdot (25%). Dark ruby/purple color with just a bit of fade on the rim. Aromas of black/blue fruit, granite dust and intense lavender. Flavors of black cherry/currant fruit, blueberries, leafy herbs with a mineral backbone from start to the end of the very long finish. Touch of a pleasant phenollic funk. Medium bodied and well balanced. Silky tannins and quite complex. This bottle aged nicely. I miss visiting the “tasting shed” at this winery. — 3 months ago
Good stuff — 5 months ago
Dark purple in color with a wide purplish rim, and medium plus intensity.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, tobacco, licorice, light oak, spices and chocolate notes.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, herbs, peppercorn and tobacco leaf.
Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 5-year-old Syrah blend from Columbia Valley is drinking nicely right out of the bottle, but better after 2 hours of airtime.
As it opens up, more earth notes show up and bring more complexity. Feels like a heavy Southern Rhone red.
This 5 year old Syrah is drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.
Rich and fruit forward. Soft and elegant, with a mouth coating feel. Spicy and complex.
A blend of 70% Syrah, 22% Carignan and 8% Mourvedre.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
