Delectable Wine

The 2008 Extra Brut Les Lumières Grand Cru is a blend of 65% Chardonnay (from Avize and Mesnil) and 35% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ) that spent ten years on its lees before being disgorged and given just the smallest touch of dosage. Creamy, resonant and expressive, the 2008 has so much to offer. Even so, it clearly needs at least a bit of time in bottle to be at its best. Tropical accents provide a hint as to where the 2008 will go over the next handful of years. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2019) — 8 months ago

Cuvee Vendemiaire Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

Electric Chardonnay. Very lean, but with nice preserved lemons and raw hazelnuts and fresh cream. Excellent minerals, some iodine, some note of cleanliness. Good texture, with leesy creamy texture on the roof of the mouth. — 3 months ago

En Vieux Fombrés Côteaux Champenois Blanc Chardonnay 2015

As you would expect, tasted just like a still Champagne. Odd but in a good way given the reputation of the house. — 2 years ago

Millésime Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2008

Excellent stuff here! There's an impressive breadth of flavour sitting on scintillating acidity and supple texture. The warm smell of baked cinammon rolls and biscuits bombards you as the bottle is popped open. The nose is deep in the glass, offering pure white florals, stone fruits, citrus, toasted almonds, and an array of spicy baked goods. The palate is intense and zesty, encased in a rich creamy structure. Finishes long, chalky, with light aldehydic notes. The tug-and-pull between lees, oxidation, concentrated fruit, and searing acidity makes for a very contemplative Champagne. Thanks for the gift, T & H 🙏 — 7 months ago
