Double decant and pour for sediment(lots of sediment). Still a dark garnet with little bricking. On the nose: such captivating expressive notes of perfumed stewed dark fruit, herbaceous, boiled meat, minty menthol, worn leather, tobacco leaf. Taste: Wow! in a beautiful spot right now....creamy, savory, silky wine with dried red fruit, earth, dark chocolate, graphite, dried herbs, old leather, and a beautiful lingering finish. YUM!!! It's what I want in an aged Napa cab...my wine of the week! — 9 months ago

What an incredible second day here in Napa. Jesus started us off with an amazing tasting at Davies/Schramsberg, Crocker & Starr gave us our cab franc fix, Montagu & Addax put on a double tasting, and Hourglass knocked it out of the park at the end of the day! I won’t post each wine we tasted, but I’ll highlight the best from each spot.
@jesus g was a killer host. He opened up some older sparklers to compare against new releases as well as poured some very impressive JDavies reds, including the Diamond Mtn Cab. This JSchram Reserve ‘08 though was on a different level. Honeyed almond, apricot, lemon curd. Texture and acidity were seductive at 10yrs old. Happy to have one tucked away for the foreseeable future. Legit, @jesus g ! — 8 years ago

Diamond Unicorn American Douple IPA 7.8% ABV by Lone Pine Brewing Company Portland, ME — 7 years ago
Dark tary cassis, blueberries, stewed plums, black raspberries, dry floral bouquet, herbs, milk & dark chocolate, coffee grounds and underbrush on the nose. The fruits melt in your mouth upon entry. The fruits are full and round. Blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries, dry plum and ripe slightly juicy raspberries. There is a strong sense of dark barrel toast as I taste a fair amount of sawdust & baking spices. This couldn't have been in bottle very long. Mocha power & milk chocolate follow. Then, herbs dominated by sage, dry coffee grounds, dry dusty brown soil with crushed volcanic rocks, graphite, leather, dry florals. Tannins are still chewy. It's such a baby. This wine has all makings of a cult Cabernet. It's has great structure, length balance and nice acidly. However, It shouldn't be opened for 10+ years. Its so young, It's hard to score this wine higher than 95 but certainly has the all makings of a 95+. Sodhani's winemaker is Thomas River Brown has made 8x 100 point wines in his career. He's made wine for; Outpost, Turley, Schrader, Maybach, Aston Estate, Vieux-Os & Double Diamond. It's certainly worth keeping an on this very young estate. 2013 was their first vintage. Notes from a Coravin tasting.

Holding fast to the trend of experiencing rarities, I have been patiently waiting for this moment for six years. Back in 2019, I was visiting Napa and one of the producers I greatly admire told me about Ketan Mody’s insane project up on Diamond Mountain. I was obviously curious and immediately joined the list for his Beta wines. Over the last half decade, I have greatly enjoyed the way those Beta wines made me think; challenging contemporary Napa wine making convention while delivering undeniable, distinctive quality. They taste very little like the point chasing wines that have become so ubiquitous (and sort of homogenous). Ketan has had to work hard for Jasud Estate to become a reality, but that’s a story for a different day.
Opened and double decanted the night before; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2022 Jasud Estate pours deep garnet/purple with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, sensational nose of fresh cassis, brambles, red flowers, leaf tobacco, rocky rocky earth, and a subtle balance of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from nose. The finish is long. A very special wine. How Ketan managed to tame the 2022 vintage is remarkable. This is a beautifully balanced and I believe this will be proof that great wine is made in the vineyard. Drink now through 2062. — 5 months ago

Very good cab from Columbia valley. Would buy again at smyrna beverage warehouse for $17. — 3 years ago
This one in still available for around €70 in Sweden, so I was intrigued to try the WOTY. Full bodied with ripe dark fruits, plenty of baking spices, currants, cedar wood. I prefer this over The Mascot from Harlan, the quality of the fruit comes across a bit superior here. Very well made. — 4 years ago
Target, $12
Very dark color with a hint of purple. Smooth dried fruit aroma. Immediate prune/dried cherry flavor coats the mouth, it's pleasantly slightly sweet with a little smokey dryness that quickly gets replaced by a sweet anise spice note that lingers for a long while. Medium amount of tannins adds a great and necessary texture to offset the slightly sweet flavor profile. Absolutely in love with this wine, especially for the price. I got it on sale for $12 but it tastes like it's worth at least double that. — 7 years ago

Big, dark yummy Cab. Schroeder does a great job bringing this alive - jammy with soft tannins, not as velvety as I would like but soft enough! App isn’t allowing location - had at Steak48 — 16 days ago
